BELGRADE LAW CONFERENCE 2017
BEKOP 2017 began with a three-day conference in the House of the National Assembly on 12. of May and presented to its participants, 150 students and young lawyers from all over Serbia, work in various legal professions such as judiciary, notary, mediation, economy, law and others.
We did this through lectures by legal experts such as Jovan Ćirić, judge of the Ustavni sud, Aleksandra Trešnjev, president of the Komora izvršitelja Srbije, Jugoslav Tintor, presidnent of the Advokatska komora Beograda, Blažo Nedić, president of Nacionalno udruženje medijatora Srbije, Momčilo Bulatović, Miroslav Miletić, vice president of PKS, Zvonko Obradović, director of APR and many others, as well as holding a mini internship fair through which we collected over 50 biographies of participants and presented 30 paid internships at the Republic and City Attorney’s Offices, summer internships at the National Bank of Serbia, notary public internships, National Employment Service and others.
BEKOP strives as an organization to be a mediator between the theoretical knowledge acquired during studies and the legal profession by providing our participants with an insight into practice and acquainting them with the principles, functions and traditions of our profession.
Through conversations with representatives of the offices, the City of Belgrade, lecturers at the conference and the results of the survey of participants, we came to important conclusions for the development of the legal profession in Serbia.
Some of the most important conclusions are:

Law students and young lawyers do not possess the necessary practical knowledge, skills and competencies required by the labor market.
Through participation and active work on improving a functional, comprehensive, quality and sustainable system of career guidance and counseling for young people, this project has already taken the first steps in solving this problem for future leaders of the profession.

Law students and young legal professionals are insufficiently engaged in extracurricular activities through which they can gain knowledge about the profession they want to pursue.
By working on expanding the project in a way that will include as many students as possible, while maintaining the current quality, we want to overcome this problem, provide young people with insight into the real needs of the private sector and the ways in which their work and commitment in the public sector can contribute to
